Matías Santa María

Graduated in Plastic Arts with a mention in painting from the Finis Terrae University in 2007. He currently lives and works in Santiago de Chile. In 2012 he holds his first solo exhibition &”Via Lactea"; at Oops Gallery and participates in the collective exhibition “Medidas Variables "; at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Valdivia. Participates in the exhibition “Replica", 2011, in Paris organized by the group Azerty. At the same time he has participated in numerous collective exhibitions during the last years.
2009-2011 “Laboratorio"; with the collective Gangbang in space Centex Valparaiso. “Attention Spam"; with the Gangbang collective at the Borges Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.
In
2012 he holds his first solo exhibition, Via Láctea, at the Oops Gallery and participates in the collective exhibition Medidas Variables, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Valdivia. He also participates in the exhibition Replica (2011), in Paris, organised by the Azerty group. And then in the 2013, he takes part in the 11th Biennial of Medial Arts at the National Museum of Fine Arts and holds his third solo exhibition abroad, Nobody's Land, at the Staple Goods Gallery, New Orleans, USA.
Also in the
2013 he exhibits his second solo show “Aura"; at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) for PumaLab and participates in the MUTT residence which concludes with an exhibition.
Last years he has spent time in Berlin producing and doing some exhibits around the city. In
2019 he lived for a time in Mexico doing a series of murals through the streets of Tulum.
